The prime minister-designate Najib Mikati started on Monday the non-binding parliamentary consultations at the House, starting his meetings with speaker Nabih Berri.
Mikati then met with the members of the Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc as its chief underscored, after the meeting, the importance of a speedy cabinet formation in order to cope with the ongoing socioeconomic crisis in Lebanon.
Mikati further met with Deputy House Speaker, Elias Bou Saab, who called for expediting the formation of a government capable of following up on current proposed dossiers and restoring normal relations with all Arab countries, the Arab Gulf states and the international community.
Prime Minister-designate also met the “Development and Liberation” parliamentary bloc. Speaking on behalf of the bloc, MP Ali Hassan Khalil stressed the need to form an effective government as quickly as possible.
It is worth noting that the non-binding parliamentary consultations are scheduled to be held on Monday and Tuesday before the process aimed at forming the new government begins.
