President Michel Aoun signed on Wednesday the decree calling the parliamentary elections on May 15, 2021, as PM Najib Mikati had signed the same decree a day earlier and forwarded it to the presidency.
It is worth noting that the election will include three vote stages: the diaspora on May 6 or 8 (according to the holiday in each country), the employees who administer the elections on May 13, and the local voters on May 15.
In light of the ongoing crisis in Lebanon, the elections in 2022 will reflect the voters’ opinions regarding the possible solutions. The elections will also indicate the political tendencies of the public pertaining various strategic issues.
