Deadlock is the best term to describe the crisis caused by the Lebanese government decision to restrict the arms to the state agencies; neither the decision makers can easily back off, nor the nation can cope with the consequences of the plague.
The latest visit of the US envoy Thomas Barrack to Lebanon did not carry any Israeli pledge to halt the daily attacks any withdraw from the Lebanese territories.
The visit was superficial and did not rise to the expectations of the decision makers so that they promote any success.
All eyes are on the Lebanese government session which will be held on September 2 to discuss the Lebanese Army plan to confine the weaponry before the end of the year.
According to Al-Manar sources, the Lebanese Army has set several conditions on its plan:
- Halt of the Israeli attacks on Lebanon
- Israeli withdrawal from all the Lebanese territories
- Reinforcement of the Lebanese Army with weapons capable of confronting the danger emanating from the eastern borders at least
The sources noted that Hezbollah and Amal Movement insist on their stance of mulling the suitable strategy to defend the nation against the Israeli enemy
