Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab on Friday discussed the monetary situation in the country with caretaker Finance Minister Ghazi Wazni.
Diab and Wazni tackled the monetary situation and measures taken by Lebanon’s Central Bank to address the decline in the LBP exchange rate on the black market, National news agency reported, quoting the press office of PM Diab.
Discussions also touched on the draft budget, in addition to the speeding up of the forensic audit launch, the press office added.
The meeting at the Grand Serail in Beirut was in the presence of PCM Secretary-General, Judge Mahmoud Makie, and PM Advisor, Khodor Taleb.
Earlier on Thursday, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah stressed the importance of forming a new government that is capable of facing the currentdire economic and financial situation in the country.
In a televised address, Sayyed Nasrallah urged the outgoing government of Diab to assume its responsibility in case there is more delay in forming the new government due to further disagreements between PM-Designate Saad Hariri and President Michel Aoun.
