The prime minister-designate, Saad Hariri, met on Thursday with President Michel Aoun at Baabda Palace in order to discuss the cabinet formation file.
After the meeting, Hariri told the reporters that the meeting managed to curb the negative atmosphere caused by his statement and President Aoun’ address.
Hariri pointed out that he told the President he was seeking an 18-seat government of specialists, adding that he would meet Aoun again on Monday.
During Monday meeting, there would be answers on how to create the government as soon as possible, according to Hariri.
Hariri, also, considered that the new government has to regain the international community as well as IMF confidence in Lebanon and improve the situation of the national currency.
On October 22, 2o2o, Hariri was tasked to form the new government after 65 MPs designated him during parliamentary elections by President Aoun at Baabda Palace.
