Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received this Wednesday Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri, and held talks with him on the latest developments and the general conditions in Lebanon and the region, as well as bilateral relations.

In the wake of the meeting, the Egyptian presidency issued a statement dealing with the meeting that took place between Sisi and Hariri, in which it stated: “President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s keenness to preserve the capacity of the Lebanese state in the first place, and to extricate Lebanon from the situation it is currently suffering from, by upholding national interest, settling disputes, and speeding up efforts to form an independent government capable of addressing the current challenges and preserving the capabilities of the brotherly Lebanese people and its national unity.”
