House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Friday warned of the seriousness of the ongoing incidents in the northern city of Tripoli, stressing that all concerned officials are required to take initiative and swift actions to extinguish the political, security, living, development, and health fires and eliminate the conflict of external agendas whose flames have started to suspiciously show in the recent bloody images in Tripoli.

Speaker Berri also urged everyone to cease exploiting people’s pain, hunger, and fear for fate in any cheap political investment.

Berri also indicated that the fires that started yesterday night, in a deliberate, systematic and planned manner in official buildings, public facilities, as well as municipal, educational and judicial institutions, are condemned and have no connection whatsoever to the people of Tripoli.

Berri concluded: “It is due time to shoulder responsibility in order to save the North so as to rescue the homeland.”
