Lebanon’s Supreme Defense Council declared on Monday a state of emergency which starts on January 14 and lasts for 11 days in order to cope with the dramatic surge in the coronavirus cases.
The lockdown, which will be mainly implemented and observed by the Lebanese army, may be extended in case the ongoing assessment indicates a need for that.
According to the decision, there will be a daytime and nighttime curfew as of Thursday (January 14).
