The ministerial committee concerned with the fight against the coronavirus in Lebanon decided on Monday a total lockdown as the health ministry announced 2861 new infections and 13 related deaths during registered during the past 24 hours.
The lockdown is scheduled to start on January 7 and end on February 1 amid strict measures to control the public movement in order to curb the sharp rise in the coronavirus cases in the country.
The report added that 14854 PCR tests were conducted during the past 24 hours, adding that the number of cases of recovery from the coronavirus rose to 134377.
According to the report, 13 new coronavirus-related death cases were registered, which raised toll to 1499.
