Caretaker health minister, Dr. Hamad Hasan, announced Monday that Lebanon would obtain 2 million shots of Pfizer anti-coronavirus vaccine in February, noting that despite all the critical political and economic conditions, the Lebanese authorities managed to assume their responsibility in this regard.
After a meeting with President Aoun at Baabda Palace, Dr. Hasan stressed that scientific studies confirmed Pfizer vaccine’s safety and ability to deal with the new strain of the virus.
Dr. Hasan pointed out that he obtained President Aoun’s permission to conclude and sign the final agreement with Pfizer company, adding that the vaccine shots would be fairly distributed to the Lebanese for free and in accordance with the international medical standards.
