The prime minister-designate Saad Hariri visited on Wednesday Baabda Palace to hold the 14th meeting with President Michel Aoun aimed at forming the new government.
After the meeting, Hariri said that the complications are still hindering the governmental process, adding that the socioeconomic crisis imposes on all the political forces to be cooperative.
The new government will certainly be able to confront the economic collapse, Hariri said.
According to Al-Manar TV reporter, the distribution of the two portfolios of justice and interior affairs forms the basic barrier hindering the cabinet formation due to its effect on the governance balance.
On Tuesday (December 22), Hariri stated, after a meeting with President Aoun, the cabinet formation would be before Christmas.
It is worth noting that Hariri was designated to form the new government by President Aoun on October 22, 2020.
