The deputy chief of the Popular Mobilization committee in Iraq, Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes, announced the end of the fourth stage of operations in western Mosul, adding that the city was separated from the rest of the Iraqi provinces.

“We controlled the main highway which links Mosul to the rest of the Iraqi provinces.”

Al-Mohandes described the achievement as the peak of the battle to regain Mosul.

also noted that the Iraqi forces are working to regain the main road linking Mosul to Tal Afar.
