Lebanese Minister of Public Health Hamad Hassan discussed with the representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) on Thursday ways to protect students in Lebanon following the lift of the lockdown aimed at combating the coronavirus pandemic.
The talks between Yukie Mokuo and Minister Hasan at his office touched on the importance of intensifying negotiations with donors with the aim of increasing UNICEF support for Lebanese children across Lebanon, National News Agency reported.
The meeting underlined the need to continue to immunize children in Lebanon with the necessary vaccines.
It discussed the preparations underway to cope with the next stage, which will witness a gradual easing of the mobilization measures imposed to combat the coronavirus pandemic, according to the agency.
After the meeting, Mokuo underlined UNICEF’s continued support to the Ministry of Public Health, stressing “the importance of pursuing coordination with the ministry and the various organizations working within the United Nations framework with a view to achieving their desired humanitarian and health goals.”
