Noting that the Lebanese people’s confidence in the state has been restored, Information Minister Manal Abdel Samad stressed that more work still needed to strengthen this confidence.
In a press briefing following a cabinet session at the Grand Serail on Tuesday, the minister stressed that the government “is determined to protect the Lebanese, at home and abroad.”
“We will spare no effort in this regard. Prime Minister Hassan Diab has stressed that we are very close to achieving the lists of citizens to whom financial aid will be provided,” she said in remarks carried by National News Agency (NNA).
Abdel Samad said that this operation will be announced on Wednesday through the Lebanese Army, noting that the military institution has finalized its preparations.
“This program will target the poor,” she stressed.
The minister added meanwhile, that the cabinet will continue discussion on financial and economic issues during another session on Wednesday at the Grand Serail.
