Dozens of Saudi-led forces and mercenaries have been killed or injured as Yemeni allied forces repelled a wide-scale offensive on the western coast.
Spokesman of Yemen’s armed forces, Brigadier General Yahya Sarih said that over 200 Saudi-led forces were killed or injured in the foiled offensive.
He confirmed that at least 25 Sudanese mercenaries were among the killed, noting that dozens of bodies belonging to Saudi-led coalition were still on the battlefield.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Sarih affirmed that the operation targeted the militiamen, including commanders in Kilo 16 area of Hodeidah province, Yemen news agency, SABA, reported.
The spokesman said the coalition fighter jets waged dozens of strikes on the Red Sea mills in flagrant violations of the international humanitarian conventions.
Meanwhile, he noted that Yemeni drones and artillery carried out joint attacks targeting gatherings of Saudi-led forces in the area.
Sarih also announced that at least 19 vehicles belonging to aggression forces were destroyed during the foiled attack.
