The United States has called for an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council in the wake of latest confrontation between the Zionist occupation and Gaza.
The American ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley, said the meeting should focus on recent mortar attacks fired from Gaza into the Zionist entity.
This is while the Israeli occupation military has targeted dozens of bases belonging to Palestinian resistance movements, Hamas and Islamic Jihad, inside the Gaza Strip.
As the Tel Aviv regime continued its aggression, Palestinians also said they were responding to the attacks by shelling occupied territories.
“The Security Council should be outraged and respond to this latest bout of violence directed at innocent Israeli civilians, and the Palestinian leadership needs to be held accountable for what they’re allowing to happen in Gaza,” Haley said in a statement.
According to the United States Mission to the United Nations such meeting would probably take place on Wednesday afternoon.
The mortar attacks from Gaza on Tuesday came a day after Israeli tank fire killed a young Palestinian man and injured another in the southern part of the Gaza Strip as the Tel Aviv regime presses ahead with its acts of aggression against the coastal sliver.
