Since the government decided on August 5, 2025, to task the Army with drafting a plan to confine all weapons to the state by the end of the year, Lebanon has been suffering escalating tensions due to the dangerous aspects of such a move.
While the small Mediterranean country is facing an ongoing Israeli aggression on its towns and villages in the South in addition to several attacks on Bekaa and Dahieh as well as terrorist peril looming on its northeastern borders, its government has found it suitable to disarm all the citizens aiding the Army in defending the nation!
The trouble is not only concerned with exposing the country to the Israeli and takfiri dangers, the local stability and security will be at stake.
In this regard, Head of Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc Hajj Mohammad Raad warned that no one can guarantee the national stability if the government insists on implementing its decision.

In early September, the government is scheduled to convene and discuss the draft plan of the Army in order to approve it.
According to Al-Manar sources, contacts between the senior officials in Lebanon are on hold; however, the Army commander Major General Rodolph Haykal is hoolding many meetings in public and secretly in order to follow up on the matter.

The sources noted that General Haykal has set sustaining the national stability and maintaining the national defense capabilities will be the pillars of his plan.
The Army has started drafting the plan with its headlines, the sources added.
