Israeli occupation forces conducted an incursion into the village of Saida al-Hanout in the southern Quneitra countryside this morning. Syrian sources reported that an Israeli military force, consisting of eight vehicles, established a checkpoint at the village’s main entrance. A contingent then proceeded into the village to search several homes.
Local sources indicated that residents refused the occupation forces’ offer of food aid and declined to answer questions posed by the soldiers regarding the situation in Syria.
An Israeli patrol also advanced into the vicinity of the village of Ain Ziwan in Quneitra and established a temporary checkpoint in the area.
Yesterday, the occupation forces released two Palestinians they had arrested while passing through a checkpoint they had erected between the town of Umm Batna and the village of al-Ajraf. Last night, an Israeli patrol consisting of six military vehicles advanced into the villages of al-Samdaniyah al-Gharbiyah and al-Samdaniyah al-Sharqiyah in the northern Quneitra countryside.
The Israeli occupation forces continue their aggressive policies and violations of the agreement. The 1974 disengagement agreement was violated through incursions into the rural areas of Quneitra and Daraa governorates and attacks on civilians, while Syria continuously renews its demand for the implementation of UN resolutions and an end to the Israeli occupation of Syrian territories, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities in deterring these illegal practices.
