The Zionist media and officials have repeatedly expressed their wonder how the locals in South Lebanon are committed to their land, unlike the absence of the sense of belonging in the case of the Israeli settlers.
This commitment was displayed on Tuesday through the scene of the farmers harvesting olives on the borders with occupied Palestine.
Every fall, farmers harvest their olive trees which produce huge amounts of olives and their oil. The olive season helps the southerners to face the economic challenges and reinforce their attachment to their land.
Accompanied by the Lebanese Army units, the farmers in Aitaroun and Yaroun border villages headed into their fields overlooked by the Zionist occupation forces to harvest the available olives and plow the land in preparation for a richer season next year.
The Zionist forces in Jal Al-Deir occupation position, south of Aitaroun, were provoked by the scene and moved their tanks in order to terrorize the Lebanese farmers.
In 2023 and 2024, South Lebanon farmers, especially in the border area, could not harvest their olives because of the Israeli aggression, which destroyed swathes of agricultural lands.
Al-Manar correspondent had reported the Israeli tanks movement in Jal Al-Deir occupation position, south of Aitaroun border town, adding that three Israeli military ATVs moved into the outskirts of the Aita Al-Shaab in the border region.
An Israeli drone attack targeted a motorcycle in Wadi Jilo, South Lebanon, leaving one casualty, according to Al-Manar reporter.
