Iranian diplomats arrived in Muscat Sunday for a pivotal fourth round of indirect negotiations with the United States, as tensions over Iran’s nuclear program continue to dominate regional discussions.
“Following my recent trip to the region and consultations with Saudi Arabia and Qatar, I am now heading to Oman,” said Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who expressed hope this round would reach “a determining point.”

Araghchi criticized American negotiators for what he described as inconsistent positions. “Unfortunately, we hear many contradictory statements from the other side. Their stance during negotiations differs from what they express outside the talks,” he noted, highlighting this as “one of the key problems in the negotiation process.”
The Iranian diplomat emphasized Tehran’s unwavering position on its nuclear rights, stating, “Iran’s nuclear program is built upon strong legal and lawful foundations. All of its aspects are peaceful, and it will remain under IAEA supervision.”
According to Nournews, the talks are expected to begin around noon local time, with the location to be determined by Oman’s Foreign Minister.
During a recent conference in Doha, Araghchi had signaled Iran’s willingness to continue discussions “in good faith” while firmly asserting that Iran’s right to peaceful nuclear energy, including enrichment capabilities, remains “non-negotiable” and that Tehran “will never surrender any legitimate rights of the proud Iranian nation.”
