Despite few quarrels, peaceful and democratic were the municipal and mayoral elections in all the towns of Mount Lebanon governorate on Sunday, May 4, 2025.
At 7 p.m., the polling centers were closed before the ballot count operation started. The interior ministry indicated that 376725 voters participated in the elections with a turnout rate of 45.16%.
The Interior minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar announced the end of the vote and the closure of the polling stations, hailing the democratic event.
“The event was carried out freely and democratically, and the polling stations were closed,” Al-Hajjar said.

It is worth noting that municipal councils of 64 towns have won by acclamation.
After a 3-year delay, the municipal elections in Lebanon will start as of May 4, 2025, in Mount Lebanon governorate, knowing that the rest of the five key governorates will witness the vote every weekend of the same month.
