Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri lashed out at the Israeli attacks on Lebanon, stressing that they represent an exposed attempt to undermine Lebanon’s commitment to the ceasefire deal.
In a phone call with Lebanese Army Commander General Rodolph Haykal, Speaker Berri said: “What ‘Israel’ did yesterday and over the past weeks is a blatant attempt to undermine Lebanon’s serious commitment to the ceasefire deal.”
Speaker Berri was referring to the Israeli escalation which peaked with intense airstrikes and attacks on Sunday, targeting broad areas including Kaouthariyet El Saiyad, Houla, Arnoun, the Iqlim Al-Tuffah region, and the Rihan hills.
Lebanon has been fully committed to the ceasefire agreement, unlike ‘Israel’ which has been deliberately violating the Lebanese sovereignty and the international resolutions, affirmed the Lebanese speaker.
He held the phone call with General Haykal to be briefed on the latest developments and to extend his condolences for the soldiers martyred in the explosion in Braikeh.
