Al-Manar TV correspondentattended the sincere meeting between Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei and a group of families of martyrs, veterans, and resistance activists on Wednesday morning.
Like the threads of dawn, Imam Khamenei entered the main hall of Imam Khomeini Hussainiya where the crowds of lovers gathered with hearts full of commitment to the resistance path and the martyrs.
The occasion was the fifth anniversary of the former head of IRGC’s Al-Quds force, General Qassem Suleimani, who was martyred in a US strike on his convoy near Baghdad airport. However, the martyrdom of Hezbollah secretary General Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah was remarkably highlighted.
The families of the martyrs met to highlight the great role of the lost leaders and warriors in preserving Islam and Muslims.
Zeinab Qassem Suleimani said that the Resistance, Hezbollah and Palestine are alive, adding that the successors of Martyr Qassem Suleimani will follow his path.
Imam Khamenei has paid tribute to Iran’s top anti-terror commander Lieutenant General Qassem Suleimani ahead of his fifth martyrdom anniversary.
“Martyr Suleimani’s constant strategy was to revive the Resistance Front,” Ayatollah Khamenei said during a meeting with a group of families of martyrs, veterans, and resistance activists on Wednesday morning.
He said if it were not for the endeavors of the late commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), the fate of all holy sites would have been the same as the shrine of Samarra in Iraq, arguing that the martyrs of the fight against terrorism did not lose their precious lives in vain.
“Some people, due to a lack of proper analysis, understanding, and knowledge of the issues, imagine and say, and perhaps promote, that with the recent events in the region, the blood [of martyrs] defending the shrine was wasted,” he lamented.
“They are making a grave mistake,” he asserted. “If these lives had not been sacrificed and this struggle had not been fought and Hajj Qassem Suleimani had not moved with such courage in the mountains and deserts of this region and had not taken [these martyrs] with him, there would be no holy [shrine] today.”
According to Ayatollah Khamenei, General Suleimani was a man of the battlefield who played an irreplaceable role in the region.
“He himself did not say or write much. I do not think that anyone else has written about these characteristics and these details for posterity,” he said. “This is one of the things that are a source of regret.”
‘Ultimate victory belongs to truth front’
Elsewhere in his remarks, the Supreme Leader argued that if countries make the mistake of removing their forces of stability and strength, who are the faithful youth, from the scene, they will become like Syria.
However, he noted that the ultimate victory of the front of truth against the enemies is certain, adding, “Know that those who are running wild today will one day be trampled under the feet of the believers.”
The American bases in Syria will be trampled upon under the feet of the Syrian youth, he predicted.
Ayatollah Khamenei described Lebanon and Yemen as symbols of resistance, saying they will emerge victorious.
He also said that the events of these past few years and the anti-terror victories of the “defenders of the shrine” have shown that the Islamic Revolution is alive.
