The second missile attack launched by Hezbollah on Meron Air Surveillance Base gained a significant importance due to its timing. The attack synchronized with a meeting between the war cabinet members and the heads of the local authorities in the northern settlements.
According to the Zionist media, the meeting was aimed at reassuring the settlers to return to their houses with a decision to approve a one-billion-dollar reconstruction plan.
The Zionist media outlets concentrated on the repercussions of the second attack launched by Hezbollah on Meron Base, considering that the Resistance Party wants to highlight its ability to strike the most important military position in North of occupied Palestine.
Head of Mateh Asher Regional Council Moshe Davidovitch said that all the northern settlements included in the military confrontation with Hezbollah need to be reassured by the prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Kiryat Shmona Mayor Avichai Stern said that all the heads of the northern settlements informed the officials that the settlers will not return to their houses unless the reality changes.
“We will not be lambs to the slaughter by Hezbollah’s elite forces (Al-Rudwan) are there on the borders, and the Resistance Party has released videos which illustrate Galilee invasion,” he added.
In conclusion, the war cabinet failed to reassure the heads of the northern settlements, and Hezbollah second missile attack on Meron exacerbated their woe.
