Deputy Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Sheikh Naim Qassem, praised the martyrdom of Abbas Muhammad Raad, son of the head of Hezbollah’s Loyalty to the Resistance Bloc MP Mohammad Raad, as a shining example of leadership in the resistance movement. Sheikh Qassem emphasized that Raad’s martyrdom represents not only Lebanon’s resistance but also that of Palestine and Iran, highlighting the dedication and sacrifice of leaders and their sons on the frontlines.
Speaking at a memorial service in the southern town of Jbaa for the martyr Raad, known with his nom de guerre “Siraj”, Sheikh Qassem tackled the ongoing battle for Al-Aqsa and the occupied territories. He declared that this is a time of resistance and victories, firmly stating that the freedom of the people will not be dictated by arrogant states or ‘Israel’. Sheikh Qassem praised the impact of the “Al-Aqsa Flood” battle, describing it as a significant blow to the Israeli entity. He expressed confidence that the fruits of this struggle will soon be realized, not only in Lebanon but also in Iraq and Yemen.
Addressing the Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip, Sheikh Qassem highlighted the resilience of the Palestinian people and their unwavering support for the resistance. He emphasized that despite the 50-day conflict, the resistance remains strong and undeterred. The Israeli occupation’s attempts to weaken the resistance and turn the people against it were futile. Sheikh Qassem also discussed the truce in Gaza, attributing its success to the steadfastness of the resistance and their ability to negotiate on their own terms.
Sheikh Qassem concluded his speech by reiterating Hezbollah’s commitment to the complete independence and liberation of Lebanon’s land. He emphasized that the political choices of Hezbollah align with this goal, aiming to secure security, safety, freedom, dignity, sovereignty, and strength for the Lebanese people.
