In a resolute statement, the Lebanese Media Group, encompassing Al-Manar Channel and Al-Nour Radio, condemned the brazen Zionist assault directed at media personnel who were diligently fulfilling their journalistic responsibilities in the southern town of Alma Al-Shaab on Friday.
“This reprehensible act resulted in the tragic loss of Reuters news videographer Issam Al-Abdallah, with additional injuries sustained by journalists from Reuters, the French press, and the Al-Jazeera satellite channel,” the statement, issued Friday overnight, said.
The Lebanese Media Group expressed its deepest condolences to its fellow media organizations, the broader journalistic community, and the bereaved family of the esteemed colleague, Issam Al-Abdallah.
“Our fervent wishes for a swift recovery go out to the wounded journalists. It is our unwavering commitment that this aggression will not dissuade our journalistic community from its duty to uphold the truth, revealing the Zionist aggression and its heinous crimes to the world,” the statement read.
It’s worth noting that Lebanese journalist was martyred and three others were wounded in an Israeli shelling attack in southern Lebanese border town of Alma Al-Shaab earlier on Friday. The Reuters news agency confirmed that Issam Abdallah, a videographer, was killed in the attack.
Reuters crew was among other two media crews attacked by Israeli occupation despite being clearly marked as press.
