French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian continued on Wednesday his meetings with the Lebanese political parties in the context of his presidential initiative.
Le Drian met with Head of Loyalty to Resistance parliamentary bloc MP Mohammad Raad at the bloc’s headquarters in Haret Hreik.
MP Raad voiced support to the dialogue initiative of House Speaker Nabih Berri as the meeting tackled the general circumstances of the presidential file.
French presidential envoy visited Clemenceau for a meeting with former head of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, in the presence of MPs Taymour Jumblatt and Wael Abu Faour.
After the meting, Jumblatt affirmed support to the dialogue notion of Speaker Berri and Le Drian, highlighting the contradiction with the “Lebanese Forces” chief Samir Geagea.
Jumblatt indicated that he had not been informed about the dialogue date, noting that Le Drian did not nominate any political figure for presidency during the meeting.
Le Drian also met with Kataeb chief MP Sami Gemayyel and Lebanese Forces head Samir Geagea. The French envoy is scheduled to meet on Thursday the Sunni lawmakers at the residence of the Saudi ambassador to Lebanon Walifd Al-Bukhari.
