Maronite Patriarch, Mar Bechara Boutros Al-Rahi, on Friday welcomed at the Maronite Patriarchate’s summer residence in Diman, Marada Movement Leader, Sleiman Franjieh, accompanied by by Bishop Estephan Frangieh.
They held a tour d’horizon bearing on the most recent developments and the overall situation.
After the meeting, Franjieh pointed out that “his visit is traditional to welcome His Beatitude at the Patriarchate’s summer residence,” noting that “the atmosphere was more than positive and that he agreed with the Patriarch that the current stage is serious and requires tranquility and for everyone to have a patriotic thinking to pass this difficult phase in the history of this country.”
He added, “We all certainly believe, including His Beatitude the Patriarch, that it is necessary to resolve Lebanon’s problems, the foremost of which is the election of a president for the republic. God willing, the coming months will be promising for reaching an agreement between us as Lebanese, so that we can overcome this stage and reach a better one.”
