Armed clashes between Palestinian factions in the refugee camp of Ain Al-Hilweh has so far claimed 6 lives and left over 30 injuries.
The Lebanese army announced that one of its soldiers was injured when a mortal shell hit a military site in Sidon as a result of the armed clashes ongoing in the Palestinian refugee camp.
Another shell hit Martyrs Square in the city, according to media reports which added that the highways close to the clashes spot were blocked as stray bullets hit some civilians.
The leader of the Fatah Movement, Abu Ashraf Al-Armoushi, was killed after being subjected to an armed ambush with his comrades in Al-Basateen neighborhood inside Ain Al-Hilweh camp.
Locals in Sidon were ordered to remain cautious as stray bullets hit shops and houses in several areas.
The public institutes in the southern city would be closed on Monday over the security developments which also pushed the camp dwellers to leave it.
