Marada Movement leader, Sleiman Franjieh, on Wednesday held a”friendly and positive” meeting with French presidential envoy, Jean-Yves Le Drian, who visited him with an accompanying delegation.
Also present at the meeting were French Ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grillo, MP Franjieh, and former minister Rony Araiji.
According to a statement issued by Franjieh’s press office, the meeting covered various current issues, as well as an exchange of ideas and possible solutions to address the prevailing crises.
Le Drian had arrived in Beirut on Tuesday, starting intensive meetings with Lebanon’s senior officials in the context of the French endeavor to enhance the Lebanese presidential elections.
Franjiyeh, supported by Hezbollah, Amal Movement and other parties, is one of the key candidates running for presidency.
