House Speaker Nabih Berri stressed that the two tents erected on Lebanon’s borders lie within the Lebanese territories, calling on the international community to oblige ‘Israel’ to observe the UN Security Council Resolution 1701.
Addressing the editors syndicate delegation, Speaker Berri affirmed that dialogue is a compulsory way to end the presidential vacuum.
Speaker Berri explained that the French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian’s upcoming visit to Lebanon will identify whether a new vote session will be held or the concerned parties will engage in a national dialogue.
Regarding the end of the term of the central bank governor Riad Salameh, Speaker Berri indicated that he supports appointing a new governor, but that he will not oppose any decision taken by the caretaker premier Najib Mikati.
