A unidentified number of houses and vehicles were set on fire today in a new pogrom carried out by government-backed Israeli settler militias in the village of Umm Safa, to the north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, according to local sources.
Scores of Israeli settlers, some of them armed with rifles and guarded by army and Border Guards Police, stormed the village and fired indiscriminately at everything they came across, including homes and vehicles, setting several houses and cars on fire.
The shooting attack also caused damage to an ambulance, and a paramedic was lightly injured by a gunshot while moving a patient in urgent condition to a hospital.
Mohammad Radi, a Palestine TV cameraman, added that the settlers fired gunshots at him and his colleague, Falantina Abu Hamed, as they were covering the terrorist attack by nearly 70 fanatic Israeli settlers on the village. He said one gunshot directly hit and damaged their camera.
Radi said his colleague, Falantina, and he miraculously survived the shooting attack by the rampaging settlers.
Attacks and acts of terrorism against Palestinians by Israeli settler militias have seen a terrible rise across the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, since last week with a green light from the far-right Israeli government.
One Palestinian was killed last week and many others were injured in a savage attack by Israeli settlers on the town of Turmus Ayya, to the northeast of Ramallah.
