Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates affairs said that Syria received with interest the decision taken by the Council of the League of Arab which met at the level of foreign ministers in Cairo.
“Syria has been following the positive trends and interactions that are currently taking place in the Arab region, and believes that these benefit all Arab countries and favor the stability, security and well-being of their peoples,” the Ministry said in a statement.
“Syria has received with interest the decision issued by the meeting of the Council of the League of Arab States regarding the resumption of the participation of delegations of the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic in the meetings of the Council of the League and all its affiliated organizations and agencies, as of May 7, 2023,” the statement read.
The statement stressed the importance of dialogue and joint action to confront the challenges facing the Arab countries.
The statement indicated that Syria is a founding member of the Arab League and has always had a strong position in favor of strengthening joint Arab action.
The Ministry concluded its statement by reaffirming that the next stage requires an effective and constructive Arab approach on the bilateral and collective levels based on the basis of dialogue, mutual respect, and the common interests of the Arab nation.”
