Syrian President Bashar al-Assad discussed with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune the political developments in the Arab region, especially in light of the visits paid by a number of Arab officials to Syria, and the visits paid by President al-Assad to both the Sultanate of Oman and the United Arab Emirates.
The discussions, held in a telephone call, also dealt with the files raised in all those meetings that would be reflected on the inter-Arab relations.
President al-Assad thanked President Tebboune for the assistance provided by Algeria and its people to Syria to face the ordeal of the earthquake.
His Excellency affirmed that this aid represented solidarity and great sympathy with the Syrian people, and reflected the deep ties between the two countries and the two brotherly peoples.
President al-Assad affirmed that Algeria, which is currently chairing the Arab Summit, has historically held positions on various issues very close to those of Syria, and this reflects the shared vision between the two countries over many decades.
President Tebboune affirmed Algeria’s continuous support to Syria and its permanent keenness to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields, and his country’s readiness to develop economic cooperation for the benefit of the two countries.
President Al-Assad congratulated President Tebboune and the Algerian people on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan.
