Two Palestinians who carried out Elad operation last week were detained Sunday by Israeli occupation forces, four days after the enemy’s failure to reach them despite all equipment and security deployment harnessed to catch them.
A joint statement from the IOF, Shin Bet and Israeli Police announced the arrests of Asaad Yousef Asaad al-Rifa’i, 19, and Subhi Emad Sbeihat, 20, who killed three Israelis and severely wounded several others in Elad near Tel Aviv on Thursday. The two hail from a town near Jenin in the West Bank.
“A joint team spotted the two suspicious figures near a quarry,” the statement said.
Speaking from the scene, Israeli Police commissioner Kobi Shabtai bragged about the intense Israeli security activity immediately after the incident and the “flooding of the area with hundreds of policemen and soldiers”, along with the means used.
Elad operation came at the end of the Zionist entity’s so-called “Independence Day”, and followed a wave of attacks by Palestinians in retaliation for the repressive measures adopted by the Israeli occupation, especially latest provocations in Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Al-Quds.
