Hamas Movement issued on Wednesday a statement that considered the vote by the Zionist occupation’s Knesset on two draft laws in their “preliminary reading” to annex the West Bank and impose sovereignty on the so-called Ma’ale Adumim settlement expresses the ugly face of the colonial occupation, which insists on continuing its attempts to “legalize” settlement and impose Zionist “sovereignty” over the occupied Palestinian territories, in a stark violation of all relevant international laws and resolutions.
Hamas affirmed that the occupation’s frantic attempts to annex the lands of the West Bank are null, void, and illegitimate, adding that they will not change the fact that the West Bank is Palestinian land by virtue of history, international law, and the advisory opinion issued by the International Court of Justice in 2024.
“We hold the Zionist occupation fully responsible for the consequences of these invalid occupation laws. We call upon the UN, the Arab League, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to condemn this step, act to restrain the occupation’s policies, and hold it – along with its leaders – accountable for their crimes against our Palestinian people and their blatant violations of international law.”
