Information Minister Ziad Al-Makary, on Thursday said that today’s cabinet session, which was held at Baabda Presidential Palace under the chairmanship of President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, discussed the initial agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). “Ministers have been asked to submit their suggestions to be reconsidered in another session,” he added.
“The council of ministers has agreed to set up a headquarters for the National Anti-Corruption Commission in Beirut to enable it to carry out its tasks,” Al-Makary noted.
As for the bank secrecy project, Al-Makary explained that it would be re-discussed during the next cabinet session.
“A ministerial committee has been formed to take preparatory measures for the Pope’s visit during June,” Al-Makary concluded.
