Russian announced a ceasefire on Tuesday in order to let civilians from a number of Ukrainian cities, including Kiev can be evacuated.
Russian Armed Forces said a silence regime would be introduced starting from 10:00 Moscow time (07:00 GMT).
“In order to safely evacuate civilians from settlements, a ceasefire is introduced today from 10 o’clock Moscow time and humanitarian corridors from Kiev, Chernigov, Sumy, Kharkov and Mariupol are opened,” the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said.
The first stage of civilians’ evacuation has begun in Ukraine’s Sumy, Ukrainian media reported on Tuesday, publishing videos featuring people on buses.
Meanwhile, the authorities of the Poltava region of Ukraine report that 35 buses have left the region, evacuating people.
On the other hand, authorities in Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) said militants were blocking the evacuation of civilians from Mariupol and Volnovakha.
