The secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council ruled out any restriction on the country’s legal right to press on with its peaceful nuclear program after the US administration restored a sanctions waiver that allows cooperation with Tehran on civil nuclear projects.
In a post on his Twitter account on Saturday, Ali Shamkhani reiterated Iran’s inalienable right to enjoy nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, Tasnim news agency reported.
#Iran‘s legal right to continue research and development and to maintain its peaceful nuclear capabilities and achievements, along with its security against supported evils, cannot be restricted by any agreement.

Earlier on Friday, a high-ranking US State Department official reported that the US administration made a decision to restore the sanctions waiver that will allow countries to cooperate with Iran on civil nuclear projects.
For his part, Iranian Government Spokesman Ali Bahadori Jahromi emphasized that all anti-Iranian sanctions must fully be removed.
In remarks to Mehr news agency, the Iranian spokesman reiterated that sanctions are not going to be removed just on paper.
“Such issue happened in the previous administration of the country in a way that the then governor of Central Bank of Iran (CBI) had acknowledged that ‘almost nothing’ had been gained as a result of the negotiation of the former administration of the country under (former) President (Hasan) Rouhani.”
Meanwhile, he stated that the current administration of President Ebrahim Raisi is to create stability in economic markets.
