Fuel prices registered on Tuesday new hike, as the US dollar exchange rate approached 30,000 Lebanese pounds.
Local media reported that the price of 95 octane gasoline increased by 15,600 LBP, reaching 351,400 LBP. The price of 98 octane gasoline also increased by 15,600 LBP to 363,400 LBP.
Meanwhile, price of diesel oil increased 24,200 LBP360,400 LBP, reaching 360,400 LBP, while the price of gas canister increased by 20,700 to 319,300 LBP.
On the other hand, the US dollar exchange rate against the Lebanese pound maintained its high rate on the black market today, reaching 29,650 LBP for sale and 29,7000 LBP for purchase.
For his part, Member of the Syndicate of Petrol Station Owners in Lebanon George Brax cited two reasons behind the increase of fuel prices.
He said that the price of imported fuel saw an increase, adding that the rise of the US dollar exchange rate also contributed to this hike.
