Moscow categorically rejected on Wednesday a UN draft resolution submitted by France and Britain in the UN Security Council, aiming at imposing sanctions in light of the recent chemical attacks in Syria.
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said in a press statement that the submitted document “provides for an intent to impose sanctions, which we categorically reject.”
Ryabkov added that Moscow warns the West of attempts to inflame tensions in the Security Council once again, stressing that those French and British efforts will not succeed.
