The Zionist entity will next week advance the construction of more than 3,000 settlement units in the West Bank’s Area C, according to a weekly schedule published by the planning committee of the Israeli occupation’s Civil Administration.
It would be the first time settlement units are approved during the administration of US President Joe Biden and the current Israeli government. The plan was originally set to go up for approval two months ago but was stalled by the Civil Administration, the Kan Israeli broadcaster said.
Israeli media quoted sources as saying that that the units will be distributed to 30 settlements and outposts in the occupied West Bank and Al-Quds, especially in the so-called settlements of “Revava, Kdumim, Kfar Ezion, and Har Brakha.”
Area C makes up some 60 percent of the West Bank and is fully under Israeli occupation. The Zionist authorities rarely approve Palestinian construction in Area C, with the overwhelming majority of requests being denied.
