US Forces stationed in a gas factory in Deir Ezzor’s Conoco came under attack, news agencies reported late Saturday.
An explosion has taken place at Conoco gas factory which the US occupation forces are taking as a military base in Deir Ezzor eastern countryside, SANA reported, citing sources.
The sources added that unusual movements of the occupation forces were observed in the area after the explosion.
Reuters also reported an attack on Conoco gas factory, but said there were no injuries.
Sputnik quoted a US defense official as confirming the attack.
“I can confirm that there was an indirect fire attack in Conoco, Syria,” the defense official said. “At this time, initial reports are no casualties, injuries and structural damage.”
Reports on social media suggest that the US military base, located near the Conoco oil field, was hit by at least four missiles.
Last Thursday, drones targeted the US occupation base in al-Omar oil field in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, for the third time within days.
