The prime minister-designate Saad Hariri visited on Monday Baabda Palace to discuss the latest developments related to the cabinet formation after few days of a negative atmosphere that dominated the governmental process.
“The President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, received Prime Minister-designate, Saad Hariri, this afternoon at the Presidential Palace, and continued with him the deliberations of forming the new government, in an atmosphere of cooperation and positive progress,” the Presidency Press Office stated.
Lebanese Presidency had assured earlier on Monday that consultations aimed at forming the new government in the country are exclusively taking place between President Michel Aoun and PM-designate Saad Hariri.
The Information Office of the Lebanese Presidency issued a statement in which it slammed as inaccurate some reports tackling the ongoing contacts to form the new government.
On October 22, Hariri was designated by Aoun to form the new government after 65 MPs nominated him in the binding parliamentary consultations.
