The number of coronavirus positive cases who have recovered from the infectious disease in Iran has surpassed 263,000, the Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said.
Speaking at a daily press conference on Friday, Sima Sadat Lari put the death toll from the coronavirus in Iran at 16,766, saying the disease has taken the lives of 197 patients over the past 24 hours.
She also noted that at least 263,519 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across the country.
The number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has risen to 304,204 following the detection of 2,674 new cases since Thursday noon, the spokeswoman added.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 4,021 patients have critical health conditions, Lari noted.
She went on to say that nearly 2,457,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 17,170,000 and the death toll has exceeded 669,000.
