The number of coronavirus positive cases who have recovered from the viral disease in Iran has surpassed 225,000, the Health Ministry’s announced on Tuesday.
Speaking at her daily press conference, ministry’s spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said at least 225,270 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far.
She put the death toll from the coronavirus in the Islami Republic at 13,211, saying the disease has taken the lives of 179 patients over the past 24 hours.
The number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has risen to 262,173 following the detection of 2,521 new cases since Monday noon, the spokeswoman added.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,389 patients have critical health conditions, Lari noted.
She went on to say that more than 2,023,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 13.3 and the death toll has exceeded 576,000.
