Lebanon registered on Thursday 34 new coronavirus, including 33 imported ones, raising the total infections nationwide to 784.
In its daily report, Lebanese Ministry of Public Health announced that out of 1,302 PCR tests conducted for Lebanese residents, only one case tested positive for COVID-19 disease.
Meanwhile, the ministry carried out 674 PCR tests for Lebanese expats who have arrived recently from corona-hit countries, the ministry said, adding that 33 people who came abroad flights from Nigeria, Saudi Arabia and Qatar this week tested positive for the contagious disease.
The ministry added that the number of recovery cases raised to 220.
No new fatalities related to COVID-19 were recorded in last 24 hours, the ministry noted, keeping the death toll nationwide at 25.
Lebanon has been since April 27 implementing the second phase of an operation to repatriate Lebanese expats stranded in corona-hit countries. As the local cases have been falling due to lockdown and other anti-corona measures in the country, Health Ministry says it’s normal to record a rise in number of imported cases.
