Minister of Education and Higher Learning, Tarek Majzoub, in Monday announced that the academic year will resume as per the Cabinet’s decision, adding that students will not be stripped of summer vacation.
Interviewed by Télé Liban channel, Majzoub said that the official exams would not be canceled. “The current healthcare situation does not require the cancellation of the official exams.”
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the Lebanese ministry of education decided to close schools and universities late February, approving a distant learning plan.
The Lebanese government decided on April 24 a 5-phase lockdown ease, setting June 8 as the date of reopening schools and universities.
