Lebanon’s total number of novel coronavirus infections was nearing 700, after 8 new cases were confirmed.
In its daily report, Lebanese Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) announced that eight new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded within the last 24 hours, taking Lebanon’s tally to 696.
Two of the eight infections were among expatriates, while the other six infections were among residents, the report said.
It added that in the last 24 hours 1,123 PCR tests were conducted at Rafiq Hariri University Hospital in Beirut and several other certified laboratories across Lebanon .
Meanwhile, the toll of the deaths related to the contagion is still at 22, with no new deaths have been recorded, according to the report.
Furthermore, the number of recovery cases reached 22, the ministry announced.
Earlier this week, Health Minister Hamad Hasan announced that the number of random tests will be increased nationwide, noting that this step will help in detect the path of the disease in Lebanon.
