Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak slammed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday for going public with the Israeli strike on Syrian territory, according to Israeli media.
“This chatter is based on political interests. It has nothing to do with deterrence,” said Barak, as quoted by Ynet.
He added that he would consider entering a political coalition with Blue and White and Joint Arab List. “There’s nothing wrong with that,” he said.
Meanwhile, former Defense Minister Avidgor Lieberman criticized the Israeli premier for announcing the strikes in Syria.
“It’s wrong to boast of our activities. We have to maintain our policy of ambiguity,” Unews quoted Lieberman as saying, citing Israeli media.
The agency also quoted former Defense Minister Moshe Yaalon as slamming Netanyahu. He reportedly accused the Israeli PM of utilizing the strikes in Syria for political and internal goals.
